根据ESPN的最新消息，阿森纳、纽卡方面均表示没有谈过托纳利转会。
ESPN指出，转会截止日各种传闻满天飞，但有一则消息已被多方否认：桑德罗-托纳利加盟阿森纳的可能性。
纽卡斯尔私下坚称，他们从未与阿森纳有过任何接触，而接近阿森纳的消息源也表示，俱乐部与此笔转会无关。至于他们是否会在夏天考虑求购托纳利，则是另一回事——他们过去曾一度对他的纽卡队友布鲁诺-吉马良斯感兴趣，但目前没有任何迹象表明今天会有相关动作。
阿森纳是否会引援替代米克尔-梅里诺，还有待观察，梅里诺接受足部手术后，本赛季能否复出仍存变数。
