男篮国家队新一轮的集训开始了，余嘉豪的名字赫然在列，并且标注了他现属于西班牙坎塔布里亚队。11日晚上余嘉豪刚飞回西班牙，打完两场比赛后23日左右又要回来参加世预赛对阵韩国的比赛，这样来回跑确实折腾，不过也没办法，世预赛对阵韩国的比赛郭士强指导必须拿下，目前内线球员有周琦和胡金秋两大主力，余嘉豪回来可以加上第三重保险。
前段时间的全运会余嘉豪回国打球，还和西乙球队发生了不愉快，原计划他是准备11月9日打完小组赛就会去的，但是浙江队小组赛出线他又打了1/4决赛和半决赛，并且两场比赛分别出战36分钟和28分钟，这让西乙球队十分不满。11日西甲毕尔巴鄂队和西乙的坎塔布里亚队都对余嘉豪发出了最后通牒，如果他执意打全运会决赛球队将和他解约，并且会在西班牙篮球联赛甚至欧洲联赛都将他拉黑，所以就有了他11日晚上深夜飞回西班牙的一幕。
全运会的比赛，余嘉豪相比之前有了很大的进步，3场小组赛场均可以拿到13.7分9.3个篮板和1次盖帽的数据，其中对阵广东队拿到15分11个篮板2次盖帽、对阵山东队拿到18分9个篮板1次助攻1次抢断和1次盖帽的数据。1/4决赛对阵上海队，余嘉豪出战36分钟拿到9分11个篮板1次助攻和2个盖帽；半决赛对阵四川队，余嘉豪出战28分钟拿到14分9篮板4助攻1盖帽的数据。因为余嘉豪在全运会上出色的表现，所以郭士强指导再次征召他进入国家队，有媒体在采访余嘉豪的时候他也亲自承认会回国参加世预赛的比赛。
回到西班牙之后余嘉豪在最近的一场比赛中替补出战21分21秒，2投0中没有得分，只拿到3篮板2盖帽的数据，此外还有4次失误。这场比赛是西乙联赛第8轮，对于坎塔布里亚队来说是相当关键的一战，对手Tizona Burgos和他们存在直接的竞争关系，这一场比赛的输赢很大程度上会影响他们是否可以进入季后赛。
余嘉豪在这场比赛里发挥不佳，和他回国参加全运会有关，毕竟来回总距离超过2万公里，单程飞行时间超过18个小时，对于任何人来说都是很大的身体挑战。休息不好，比赛状态也不会好，这些都是存在直接关联的。坎塔布里亚队下一场比赛的时间是在22日，根据计划比赛结束后余嘉豪会再次回到国内备战世界杯预选赛的比赛。
其实这次男篮国家队集训队的内线人员足够，周琦重回国家队依然是内线的支柱，加上胡金秋、焦泊乔、蒋浩然和李祥波足够用了，郭士强指导完全可以从中挑选合适的替补，根本没必要让余嘉豪回来。当年姚明在NBA火箭队打球的时候，不仅每年要打几十场常规赛，还要回来打亚锦赛、亚运会以及斯坦科维奇杯比赛等，奥运会和男篮世界杯更不用说，因为过度劳累姚明在职业生涯巅峰期的年龄里连续遭遇伤病，后面身体实在扛不住了，不得已只有宣布退役。
杨瀚森和王俊杰目前在美国打球，短时间内不用像姚明这样折腾，可以安心的成长和进步。希望在欧洲打球的余嘉豪也可以少参加一些无关紧要的比赛，在西乙联赛好好训练，好好学习球技才是最重要的。
